An exchange on the death of Charlton Heston.

Andrew: the news can't seem to agree on whether he was 83 or 84
m: ha
Andrew: the simple math -- 2008-1924 -- puts him at 84, but I'm going to guess he hadn't quite made his birthday
m: yeah - that's prolly it
well, farewell, gun nut!
Andrew: yep, October 4
m: there you go!
Andrew: "Charlton Heston, dead at 83 and a half"
m: lol
Andrew: it's a shame people don't do half birthdays after about 11yo
m: yeah, i was thinking that's what a six year old would write
ha
Andrew: it's particularly worth it for older folks, who might not make it to their next birthday
precision and practicality

Upon reading the news of Heston's passing, my first thought was "So, did they have to pry that rifle out of his cold, dead hands?"
