Damn you, Smokler.
Well, it does provide a good way for me to get back into the habit of posting here. So, a meme.
The Rules:
1. We have to post these rules before we give you the facts.
2. Players start with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
3. People who are tagged write their own blog post about their eight things and include these rules.
4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names. Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them they're tagged and that they should read your blog.
5. 8 is a magic number. Not three.
Eight Obscure Things About Me:
1. Like Kevin, I usually have to roll over at least once before I can fall asleep. Basically, I start on my back, roll to my left side, then to my stomach, then my right, and finally fall asleep on my back. The whole process takes a few minutes.
2. For sixth grade graduation, I said I wanted to be a cartoonist when I grew up, even though I already knew I wouldn't.
3. I forget people's names all the time (seriously, all. the. time.) but I rarely forget a face.
4. The only time in my life when I haven't had a pet of some sort was my first two years of college. We adopted a six-week-old stray kitten shortly after the start of my junior year. (She got the name Apu for reasons I no longer remember, and became Ross' cat after we left school.)
5. I'm slowly becoming hard of hearing. I'd estimate my hearing is at about 85-90 percent right now, thanks to concerts and other loud events. It's worse when I'm in a space with lots of competing sounds.
6. In high school, some friends and I borrowed a scheme of talking about people in front of them by referring to people by country names. Only we weren't as well-versed in international politics as the guys we borrowed it from, so we weren't as smooth about it as they were. So we mainly used it amongst ourselves, in semi-private. Somewhere I've got a master list of countries we wrote down one night at Yvette's. (I later developed one of my own using colors, but never shared it with anyone.)
7. I know most of the words to the French national anthem, but don't often have the opportunity to sing it anymore, so I'm a bit rusty.
8. I've been worrying about my weight for at least five years.
