Work!
For the first time in months (and by months, I'm talking almost a year) I've got a freelance gig. I'm writing an ad for a small manufacturer, as well as working up copy for their tradeshow booth and probably reworking their website, too, down the road. The first two items take precedence, though -- they have to be ready for a convention in >5 weeks.
It's serendipitous that I got the job; I was a bit late out the door at work when one of the graphic designers we use called. He was referred to this company by a printer he works with, but he needed to find a copywriter. Considering the initial scope of the project and the size of the company, I said it was probably a bit too small for our tastes, but that I could do it as a side thing. He put me in touch with the company rep, and that was pretty much that.
So I've got that going for me, which is nice.
